ANGELA Y. GETTER

ANGELA Y. GETTER is an expert in non-profit fund development, philanthropic strategy and engagement, and strategic communications and marketing.

 

As the founder and president of Getter Group & Associates, LLC, Angela offers extensive experience in institutional advancement, resource development, philanthropic engagement, strategic communications and organizational development.

 

With over 25+ years of experience, she has been instrumental in helping to raise more than $250 million during her career, which includes a diverse mix of capital campaigns, major gift program development and STEM Corporate Engagement work in higher education and non-profit organizations.  

 

Angela has provided executive leadership at several historically Black colleges and universities, including Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, Albany State University, Edward Waters University, Mississippi Valley State University, and  Jackson State University. As Managing Director of the historic Kresge Foundation and Southern Education Foundation HBCU Initiative, she helped to plan and implement an $18 million project to build sustainable development infrastructures for historically Black colleges and universities (HBCU) development infrastructures.

Angela most recently served as the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, Development, Marketing and Communications at Edward Waters University where she raised over $3.5 million. Prior to that, she was Executive Director of Development at Life University, the world’s largest on-campus chiropractic university in the world, where she strengthened advancement capacity, raised over $2.5 million annually and established a Corporate Women’s Advisory Council to impact student development and strategic resource development in the health, wellness and healing space.

 

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Angela holds a B.A. in Organizational Leadership from Morris Brown College, certification (CFRM) from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, and Post-Graduate Certification Program in Fundraising at Dartmouth University. She is a member of the Lamplighters Higher Education Roundtable, African American Development Officers (AADO), Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Jacksonville Chapter. 

 

She currently serves on the board of the Ritz Chamber Players and resides in Jacksonville, Florida.
